According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Anatoly, a senior correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, Russia has taken steps to form an alliance with several prominent American universities in reaction to actions by the U.S. government under Donald Trump, which targeted research budgets and academic independence.
The newspaper reported that this unofficial group consists of around 10 higher education institutions, primarily members of the “Ivy League / Consortium of Elite Private Universities”, along with leading universities specializing in technical research fields.
