Sheikh Naeem Qassem: “The Zionist regime has violated the ceasefire 3,000 times

Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, addressed Lebanon’s internal developments during a speech on Monday, stressing the need for greater government efforts to expel the Zionist regime from southern Lebanon and hold it accountable to its commitments.

Sheikh Qassem stated: “We have three priorities that demand our focus. These are crucial for both the government and the nation, as they will ensure Lebanon’s stability and growth. The first priority must be stopping the Zionist regime’s aggression, securing its withdrawal from southern Lebanon, and releasing prisoners.”

He added: “No ceasefire violations have been recorded in our name, while the Zionist regime has violated the truce over 3,000 times. Hezbollah has fully adhered to the ceasefire agreement between Lebanon and the Zionist regime and has facilitated the army’s deployment in southern regions. The Lebanese government is responsible for enforcing the ceasefire by pressuring its guarantor states.”

Sheikh Qassem emphasized: “The Lebanese government must intensify efforts at local, national, and international levels to ensure the ceasefire’s implementation. While we appreciate the president and prime minister’s condemnation of yesterday’s Zionist aggression against southern Beirut, we urge officials to amplify their voices and increase their efforts.”

The Hezbollah leader stressed: “Yesterday’s attack by the Zionist regime on Beirut’s southern suburbs was backed by the U.S. America has interests in Lebanon but must understand these cannot be achieved without stability.”

He noted: “The resistance has been 100% committed to the ceasefire. I tell government officials: you must uphold the truce. Some officials promise foreign envoys to restrict weapons to state control, while the Zionist side ignores its obligations. The Zionist regime seeks dominance over Lebanon, building settlements on its soil, and weakening the country – goals supported by America.”

Sheikh Qassem continued: “We stood firm during hardships, forcing the enemy to accept the ceasefire. We will never compromise our strength – Lebanon’s strength lies in its resistance, army, and people. Lebanon must remain strong through this trinity.”

Regarding reconstruction, he said: “Rebuilding war-damaged areas is our second priority. The government’s delays are unacceptable, and we must hold it accountable.”
