Iraqi Forces Target ISIS Hideouts in Eastern Salahuddin Province in Latest Counterterrorism Operation
According to a report by the English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Maalomah, a security source stated that Iraqi forces successfully targeted ISIS positions in the Balkana Heights, near Tuz Khurmatu in eastern Salahuddin Province, during yesterday’s airstrikes.
The report indicates that two underground ISIS hideouts in the area were struck by Iraqi aerial operations.The Balkana region has recently witnessed a series of security operations by Iraqi forces aimed at pursuing remaining ISIS elements. Due to its rugged terrain, the area is considered a strategic point along the border between Salahuddin and Sulaymaniyah provinces.
