A UN Humanitarian Official Sounds the Alarm on Gaza’s Situation
According to the English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Olga Cheronko, spokesperson for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Gaza, warned that the humanitarian situation in the region is deteriorating rapidly. Continued obstruction of aid deliveries will lead to a humanitarian catastrophe.She added: Malnutrition is spreading, and with crossings remaining closed, hunger will worsen, and diseases will spread. Available resources are insufficient, making it impossible to control current conditions.
The UN humanitarian official emphasized that food and medical aid are rotting before reaching those in need.
She called for an immediate reopening of crossings,a return to a ceasefire,and an end to forced displacement.
