According to the English section of “webangah News Agency,” citing Mehr News Agency adn Russia Al-Youm, Ukraine’s Security Service reported the arrest of several defense officials accused of supplying defective weapons to the ukrainian army during the war with Russia.
The report states that tens of thousands of faulty mortar shells were delivered to Ukrainian forces, prompting authorities in November 2024 to announce an investigation into the scandal.
while Ukraine’s military faces severe equipment shortages, at least 120,000 mortar shells had to be retrieved from combat zones. among those detained are a factory director in central Ukraine, his deputy, a former official from the Ministry of Defense’s procurement department, and a military inspector.
