Escalation of armed clashes near the capital of Syria

Local sources report escalation of clashes in Syria.

According to the English section of the Webangah news Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Mayadeen, local sources in Syria have reported intensified violent clashes around​ the Ashrafiyah area in Sahnaya, on the outskirts of Damascus.

The report states that armed groups attacking the area have brought ‌additional​ military equipment into the region.

Unidentified airstrikes⁢ have also targeted armed elements in ‍Ashrafiyah, killing at least six militants who attempted to infiltrate from the western ‍front ⁣of the area.

Local sources confirmed that armed forces​ managed to breach Ashrafiyah from its eastern front.
