The warship “Choe hyon”, unveiled by state media on Saturday, weighs approximately 5,000 tons and is reportedly equipped with the most advanced weaponry systems. It is scheduled to be officially delivered to the North Korean Navy early next year.
The ship’s class is named after Choe Hyon, an anti-Japanese revolutionary fighter during japan’s occupation of the Korean Peninsula in the early 20th century. This naming reaffirms North Korea’s doctrine of linking historical narratives, political legitimacy, and displays of military power in its security strategy.(Note: No video URLs detected—content remains unchanged.)
