Israeli warplanes Fly Over Damascus Countryside Amid Escalating Clashes in Sayyida Zeinab adn Ashrafiyat
News sources reported flights of Israeli regime warplanes over the Damascus countryside following escalating clashes in Sayyida Zeinab and Ashrafiyat, south of Damascus, and also the bombing of three targets in Sayyida Zeinab.
According to the English section of “webangah News Agency“, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, news sources reported Israeli regime warplanes flying over the outskirts of Damascus.
The sources stated that the regime’s fighter jets were flying at low altitudes over areas in the Rif Dimashq region. Explosions were also heard in Damascus and its suburbs.
An Al Jazeera correspondent reported that Israeli warplanes bombed three security targets inside Sayyida Zeinab on the outskirts of Damascus, wounding several members of Joulani forces.This comes after Joulani forces attacked Druze-populated areas near damascus, prompting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin netanyahu and War Minister Yoav Gallant to issue a joint statement claiming defense of the Druze community. They stated: “The Israeli army carried out a warning operation and struck a group of extremists who were preparing to attack Druze residents in Sayyida Zeinab.”
Yoav Kish, Israel’s Education Minister, added: “Israel stands with the Druze and will not allow any harm to come to them.”
Similarly, Eli Cohen, Israel’s Energy Minister, adopted a defensive stance toward the Druze, stating: “We will not stand idly by against any action targeting them.”
