By order of Ilham Aliyev National Bank Baku branch resumes its operations
Reports received by Mehr News Agency indicate that the National Bank’s Baku branch will resume operations.
Mehr News Agency,International Desk: Informed sources told Mehr that following the recent visit of Masoud Pezeshkian,Iran’s president,to Azerbaijan,the Baku branch of Iran’s National Bank will reopen after a period of suspension,with the approval and directive of Ilham Aliyev.
According to these sources, this is a positive development in enhancing trade relations between the two countries and good news for Iranian business figures in Azerbaijan—marking one of pezeshkian’s economic achievements during his trip to Baku.
Masoud Pezeshkian met and held talks with Ilham Aliyev on Monday during a one-day official visit to Baku. Both sides emphasized expanding and strengthening bilateral relations.
Tensions between Azerbaijan and Iran had escalated in recent years, but officials from both countries now appear to have managed existing disputes. The Iranian president’s visit to Baku and the reopening of the National Bank branch are seen as steps toward this goal.
