Druze leader calls for urgent international intervention in Syria

According to a report by the English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Mayadeen,Sheikh Hikmat al-Hijri,the spiritual leader of Syria’s Druze community,has emphasized the necessity of international support for the Syrian people following recent massacres amid escalating armed conflicts in the country.
He added: “Requesting international protection is a legitimate right of the nation. Global institutions have remained silent in the face of these crimes and are censoring developments and massacres against the Syrian people.”
Al-Hijri further stated: “The situation in Syria requires urgent intervention by international forces to prevent further bloodshed.We no longer trust those who claim to be Syria’s rulers, as a government must not use affiliated takfiri elements to slaughter its own people.”
He continued: “We witness figures linked to Syria’s rulers among us—they are nothing but tools of murder with takfiri and sectarian ideologies. We did not anticipate these ISIS-like massacres. The killings in coastal areas also remain uninvestigated and unaddressed.”
