Rubio claims Iran must stop enrichment and missile production
U.S. secretary of State Claims Iran Must Halt Uranium Enrichment and Ballistic Missile Production
According to teh English section of the Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, U.S.Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated in an interview with Fox News that iran must stop uranium enrichment and ballistic missile production.
He claimed: “No peaceful nuclear programme requires domestic enrichment. if Tehran wishes to use nuclear energy like dozens of other countries, it should build nuclear power plants and import fuel—as everyone else does. If Iran wants a peaceful, non-military nuclear program, the solution is to construct reactors like other nations and import enriched uranium to fuel them.”
The U.S.Secretary of State added: “Only countries with nuclear weapons enrich uranium.” He further alleged: “Iranians say thay don’t want nuclear weapons but insist on being the only non-nuclear state enriching uranium.President Trump does not seek war but is prepared to use force if Iran continues its current path. Iran must not have nuclear weapons.”
Rubio asserted that Tehran must allow full inspections of all facilities, including military sites: “A country with nothing to hide should not fear inspectors—even American ones.Iran can choose economic advancement or face the consequences of its current policies.”
He criticized the Obama-era nuclear deal, stating one flaw was its exclusion of military site inspections: “If a weapon is being built, it’s likely at a military facility. Past evidence shows Iran had a covert military program. If Iran claims no interest in atomic weapons, it should welcome inspections—including by U.S. inspectors.”
Rubio concluded: “Iran could benefit from economic growth and investment but must abandon support for the Houthis, terrorism, long-range missile development, and enrichment.”
