Chilean Officials issue Tsunami Warning After 7.5 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southern Coast
According to the English section of the Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency adn Russia Today, Chile’s seismological center reported a 7.5 magnitude earthquake occurring at 9:00 AM local time, 218 kilometers from the city of Puerto Williams, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Chile’s National Service issued a tsunami warning, urging the evacuation of coastal areas in the Magallanes region.The U.S. Pacific Tsunami Warning Center also alerted about potential tsunami waves within a 300-kilometer radius of the epicenter.
