US effort to sign rare minerals deal with Congo and Rwanda
The U.S. Government Seeks to Push Congo and Rwanda to Sign Peace Agreement and Rare Mineral Contracts for Dominance Over Their Resources.
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Investing news base, the U.S. government has urged Congo and Rwanda to sign a peace agreement with each other and plan bilateral mining contracts with the United States.
masood Poulos, advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump on African affairs, publicized this matter.
The U.S.-backed peace proposal between the two countries comes as M23 rebels, supported by Rwanda, continue advancing in Congo. The clashes have triggered the worst wave of violence in the region—an area rich in rare minerals and reserves, including tantalum and gold.
The peace agreement and mining contracts between these countries and the U.S. are expected to be signed at the White House within the next two months.
