Pakistan will respond to any Indian attempt to block water with an attack

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Vows to Destroy Any Indian Structure Blocking⁤ Indus⁤ River Water Flow to Islamabad

According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr⁣ News ⁢Agency and Reuters, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated during heightened tensions between ⁣pakistan ⁣and India following the Kashmir attack that Islamabad will destroy any structure built⁢ by India to divert or block water flow toward Pakistan. After an attack on a ‌group of tourists in pahalgam, ⁤located in Indian-administered Kashmir, India suspended ‍a 65-year-old water treaty with Islamabad, accusing its neighbor of involvement in the incident. The treaty guarantees water⁤ supply for 80% of Pakistan’s agricultural land.‍

India declared the suspension would remain in effect until Pakistan “irreversibly and convincingly ends⁣ its support for cross-border terrorism.” New Delhi claims two of the three attackers involved in ‍the Kashmir tourist assault were ⁤Pakistani nationals. Islamabad has denied all allegations and warned that any attempt to halt or divert Pakistan’s water flow would be⁣ considered a‍ “declaration of war.”

Asif stated: “This would be an act of‍ aggression against Pakistan. If such a structure is‍ built, we will destroy ⁤it.” He added: “Aggression isn’t⁤ limited to bullets and artillery—it takes many forms. One such form [blocking/diversion] could lead to deaths from famine or thirst.”

last week, as tensions escalated between⁢ the nuclear-armed neighbors, Pakistan’s top defense official warned that after last week’s⁢ deadly attack on tourists⁢ in Indian-controlled Kashmir, “a military strike by New Delhi against Islamabad is imminent.”
