Pakistan Army Announces “Successful” test of 450 km-Range Missile Amid Escalating Tensions with India Over Kashmir Attack
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu, the Pakistan Army has conducted a “successful” test launch of a surface-to-surface missile with a range of 450 kilometers, as tensions between Pakistan and india intensify following an attack on tourists in Indian-controlled Kashmir.
The Pakistan Army stated that the test aimed to “ensure operational readiness and validate key technical parameters, including advanced missile guidance systems and enhanced maneuverability capabilities.”
President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and senior Pakistani military officials congratulated the armed forces, scientists, and engineers on the successful missile launch. They expressed confidence in the full operational preparedness and technical proficiency of Pakistan’s strategic forces to ensure credible deterrence and safeguard national security against any aggression.
The tensions flared after an April 22 attack on a tourist lodge in Pahalgam, Indian-administered Kashmir, which killed 26 people—most of them tourists. India has blamed its neighbor for the attack, but Islamabad denies any involvement.Though, Pakistan has proposed an impartial examination supervised by a third party to examine all aspects of the incident.
