Indian Government Bans Import of Goods from Pakistan Amid Escalating Tensions
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and RT (Ruptly), the Indian government announced on Saturday an indefinite ban on imports and transit of goods from pakistan.
This decision comes one week after heightened tensions between the two countries following a terrorist attack in the disputed Kashmir region.
Two weeks ago, a terrorist attack on foreign tourists in Pahalgam, Kashmir, resulted in 35 fatalities, with India directly accusing Islamabad of orchestrating the assault.
The incident has further strained relations between the long-time rivals,prompting reciprocal measures—including treaty cancellations,airspace closures,and joint military drills—as both sides escalate hostilities.
