Somali Army Crushes Terrorist Group Al-Shabaab, Killing 50 Members
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Somalia’s official news agency, “SONNA”, Abubakar Ali, spokesperson for Somalia’s Federal Ministry of defense, stated that the country’s national army, alongside local forces, successfully thwarted a fearful attack by the terrorist group Al-Shabaab in a joint operation.
The attack occurred yesterday in border areas between the Hiran and Middle Shabelle regions—zones where government and local forces are stationed.
the report indicates that during intense clashes in these areas and several others, nearly 50 members and commanders of Al-Shabaab were killed.
The Somali Defense Ministry spokesperson added that these regions are now fully under the control of somalia’s national army and local forces, with clearance operations still ongoing.
He described this advance as a significant achievement in Somalia’s fight against terrorism.
