Trump imposes 100 percent tariff on non-American films
U.S. President Extends Tariff War, Targeting Foreign Films Next!
According to a report by the English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and Sky, U.S. President donald Trump has announced new tariff targets, imposing a 100% tariff on foreign films intended for release in the united States.
Trump claimed that the American film industry is “dying,” accusing other countries of luring filmmakers and studios away from the U.S. through various incentives and subsidies.
In a post on his social media platform Truth Social, he asserted that this is a “coordinated effort by foreign nations” and thus constitutes “a threat to national security.”
Trump further stated that he has authorized the Department of Commerce and the U.S. Trade Representative’s office to impose 100% tariffs on all films produced by foreigners and imported into America.
It remains unclear how these measures will affect international productions released both in the U.S. and other countries worldwide.
