Director of Al-Shifa Medical complex Announces at Least 57 Martyred Due to Unprecedented Humanitarian Crisis and Famine in Gaza
According to the English section of “Webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Information Center, Dr. Muhammad Abu Salmiya, director of Al-Shifa Medical Complex in Gaza, revealed the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip. He stated that the blockade crisis has entered its 64th day, with all crossings remaining entirely closed.
He emphasized that this prolonged situation has intensified famine, leading to the deaths of at least 57 people from starvation and food shortages. Abu Salmiya noted that humanitarian conditions in Gaza have reached unprecedented levels, with food, medicine, and medical supplies entirely cut off.
The director accused the occupying regime of employing a “systematic policy of starvation” against civilians, warning that by completely blocking essential supplies, it has endangered millions of lives.
Abu Salmiya urged immediate action by international bodies—especially the World Health Organization (WHO), human rights organizations, and humanitarian agencies—to pressure the Zionist regime into reopening crossings and allowing critical aid deliveries.
In related developments, WHO reported that 30 trucks carrying medical aid affiliated with the organization remain stranded outside Gaza due to access restrictions. The agency added that its staff inside Gaza are severely overburdened due to blocked external aid shipments.
Under international law,Israel is obligated to issue permits for humanitarian and medical aid entry into Gaza.
