Trump did not take responsibility for the AI-generated image of himself in pope’s attire
U.S. President Claims AI-Generated Image Depicting Him as Catholic Leader Has “Nothing to Do With Him”!
According to a report by the English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and The New york Times, U.S. President Donald Trump responded to questions about an AI-generated image portraying him in the attire and likeness of the Pope, asserting that he had “nothing to do with it”!
Trump stated in response: “It had nothing to do with me. Someone made a picture of me dressed as the Pope and circulated it online. I didn’t do it, and I have no idea where it came from. Maybe it was AI, but I don’t no how it appeared!”
This claim comes as Catholics across America—including a prominent cardinal—have described the image as offensive, especially since it circulated widely on social media around the time of Pope Francis’ passing, the late global leader of Catholics.trump denied involvement despite the image being posted on both the White House’s official X (formerly Twitter) account and his own social media platform, Truth Social.
Cardinal Timothy Dolan of New York responded when asked about the incident: “it wasn’t a good thing. I hope he wasn’t involved.” Pressed further on weather he believed Trump or the White House should apologize or remove the image, Dolan briefly replied: “Who knows!”
Trump, who is not Catholic and does not regularly attend church, shared this image on Truth Social last friday—less than a week after attending funeral services for Pope Francis, who passed away last month at age 88.
