According to a report by teh english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Israeli media outlet Times of Israel, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, addressed questions during a press briefing on Tuesday regarding recent remarks by U.S.President Donald Trump. Trump had stated that Washington’s goal in negotiations with iran was achieving the complete “dismantling” of Tehran’s nuclear program.
The Russian Foreign ministry spokesperson emphasized that Iran and other non-nuclear-weapon states retain the legitimate right to develop their civilian nuclear energy programs.
The U.S. president recently claimed in an interview with NBC News anchor Kristen Welker that he sought the “complete dismantling of IranS nuclear program,” though he remained open to hearing arguments about Iran’s access to nuclear energy.
