Kremlin reacts to proposal for buffer zone on Russia Ukraine border
Kremlin Spokesperson Says Moscow Has Yet to Receive Any Initiative from Kyiv on Establishing a Demilitarized Zone Along the Contact Lines (Frontlines).
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, responded to remarks by Keith Kellogg, special envoy of former U.S. president Donald Trump, stating that Moscow has not yet received any proposal or initiative from kyiv regarding the establishment of a demilitarized zone along the war’s contact lines.
Kellogg had earlier claimed that Kyiv is prepared to accept a 30-day ceasefire and is willing to halt hostilities along the frontlines on the condition of creating a 30-kilometer-wide demilitarized (buffer) zone.
when asked about these statements and whether Russia is ready to consider such a proposal from Ukraine, Peskov replied: “We have not heard a single word from Kyiv about this.”
