Prominent ”Soft Power” Theorist Passes Away at 88
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and American media reports, Joseph nye, the distinguished political science scholar and former dean of Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy school of Government, has died at the age of 88.
Nye, a leading figure in international relations, introduced the concept of “soft power” in his seminal 1990 book, Bound to Lead: The Changing Nature of American Power.
From Nye’s perspective, soft power refers to a nation’s ability to attract and persuade others through its culture, values, and legitimacy—rather then coercion or force.
