US Secretary of State calls Pakistani Prime Minister
U.S. Secretary of State Claims Commitment to Regional Peace and Stability in call with Pakistani Prime Minister
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Reuters reported—based on information from the Pakistani government—that prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received a phone call from U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. During the call, Rubio stated that the United States remains committed to strengthening peace and stability in the region.
On another front, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar asserted that Islamabad has demonstrated responsible behaviour despite provocations from the opposing side and continues to exercise restraint.
She emphasized Pakistan’s right to respond to India’s violations at an appropriate time and place.
Simultaneously occurring, a spokesperson for the Pakistani military confirmed that its forces are on high alert, closely monitoring all movements within its airspace.
Referring to recent clashes between military forces and 75–80 Indian fighter jets, as well as the downing of five intruding aircraft, the spokesperson warned that any missile or projectile entering Pakistani airspace would be destroyed.
The spokesperson also denied claims that the Pakistani military had targeted 15 locations inside India, while adding that Pakistan successfully shot down 29 Indian drones, with only one drone partially hitting its intended target.
