Russian President at Red Square Marks 80th Anniversary of WWII End: “Russia Will Remain an Unbreakable Barrier Against Nazism”
According to the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Sputnik, Russian President Vladimir Putin addressed a ceremony in Moscow commemorating the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, stating:
“Dear citizens of Russia, esteemed veterans, honored guests. Comrade soldiers and sailors, sergeants and officers, generals and admirals—I congratulate you on the 80th anniversary of victory in the Grate Patriotic War.”
Putin emphasized: “We unite in reverence for the victorious generation of the Great patriotic War. Our country secured freedom and peace for all humanity at the cost of millions of lives.”
He added: “Victory Day remains Russia’s most sacred party. Russia will always stand as an unbreakable barrier against Nazism and fight crimes committed by its adherents.”
The Russian president affirmed nationwide support for participants in special military operations, praising their resilience: “All of Russia stands behind them and takes pride in their fortitude.”
Putin further declared: “Russia will never allow the true victors over Nazism to be misrepresented.The complete defeat of Nazism was achieved through collective efforts—we honor our allies’ role.” He called on Russians to draw inspiration from those who sacrificed to defend the nation.
