axios Reports: Trump’s Middle East Envoy Steve Witkopf to Travel to Oman on Sunday for Fourth Round of Indirect iran-US Talks
According to the english section of the Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Axios reported—based on an informed source—that Steve Witkopf, the U.S. President’s Special Representative for Middle East Affairs, will travel to Muscat, Oman’s capital, next Sunday to attend indirect nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States.
The American outlet claimed: “We anticipate the fourth round of Iran-US talks will be held in a hybrid format, combining direct and indirect discussions.”
This comes as Seyed Abbas Araghchi, iran’s deputy Foreign Minister, stated today: “The host country, Oman, will determine the timing and location of the talks. Our Omani counterparts inquired about Sunday, and we expressed our agreement. It appears they have also consulted with the other side (the U.S.), and so far, negotiations are scheduled for Sunday.”
