Shift in Trump administration stance on Hamas weapons
Egyptian Source Points to Shift in Trump Administration’s Stance on Gaza Strip
According to the English section of the Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Arabi al-Jadeed, an Egyptian source reported that U.S. negotiators, during recent talks with Egyptian mediators, stated that Trump administration officials have shown flexibility regarding the issue of Hamas’ disarmament, postponing its review until after a ceasefire agreement is reached.
The report indicates this progress reflects a shift in the Trump administration’s position.
The source added that American officials acknowledged forcibly expelling thousands of Palestinian fighters from the Gaza Strip is unfeasible.
Per the report, the U.S. no longer demands immediate disarmament of Palestinian resistance groups, particularly Hamas. Instead, Washington now prioritizes securing the release of all zionist captives and their remains from Gaza.
