Amid escalating tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad strong earthquake hits Pakistan
As Tensions Escalate Between New Delhi and Islamabad, a 5.7 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Pakistan
according to the English section of “webangah News Agency,” citing Mehr News Agency and Times of India, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake struck Pakistan amid rising tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad.
Times of India reported that this quake occurred just hours after a 4.0 magnitude tremor hit the same region.
Tensions between the two capitals intensified following last month’s attack on a group of tourists in Indian-administered Kashmir, which left 26 dead. The situation escalated further after India carried out precision strikes last Wednesday on targets inside Pakistan and Pakistan-administered Kashmir.
In retaliation, Pakistan launched a second consecutive night of drone attacks against 26 locations across India—from jammu and Kashmir to gujarat.
Earlier today, Pakistani Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has called for an emergency meeting of the country’s nuclear committee, likely to be held later today.
