According to the English section of “webangah News agency,” ​citing Mehr News ‍Agency and ‍Al Mayadeen, the ‌leaders of four ​European countries—France, Germany, Britain, and Poland—traveled to Kyiv, Ukraine’s‌ capital, to pressure⁢ Russia​ into agreeing to a comprehensive ceasefire and hold talks wiht Ukrainian President‌ Volodymyr Zelenskyy. They expressed ⁣readiness⁣ to support peace negotiations while warning ⁣of increased pressure on Russia if the war continues.

Shortly before this​ visit, the ⁢four leaders—French⁣ President Emmanuel Macron,​ German Chancellor [Olaf] Scholz,⁢ Polish Prime Minister [Donald] ​ Tusk, and British Prime⁤ Minister [Keir] ‌ Starmer—issued a joint statement urging Russia to‍ agree to an unconditional 30-day ceasefire as ​a step toward preparing‍ for serious‍ peace ‌talks.

The European leaders emphasized: “Stressing the urgent need to stop bloodshed,⁤ we stand ready to support peace negotiations at the earliest ⁤chance—discussing mechanisms for implementing a ceasefire and paving the way for ‍a full peace​ agreement.”

They reaffirmed their commitment to escalating support for Ukraine:​ “Unless Russia agrees to a ​permanent⁤ ceasefire, we will intensify pressure on Moscow.”
