Sana’a International Airport Director Details Latest Condition After Recent Zionist Regime Attack

According to a report by⁤ the English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and Sputnik, Yemen’s ⁤Ansarullah announced that Sana’a International Airport has been severely damaged following attacks‍ by Zionist forces, leaving over 3,000 Yemeni citizens ⁤stranded in Jordan.

Khalid ⁤Al-Shayef, director of Sana’a ‍Airport, stated that the‌ facility was directly targeted with more than 15 missiles, completely destroying passenger terminals and airport equipment.

He added that those stranded include patients, students, and individuals who were scheduled to return to Yemen at an average rate of 300 people per day.

The ⁣airport director noted that efforts have begun to rebuild the airport and partially resume flights ‌within a week.

Al-Shayef emphasized that the damage to the airport’s infrastructure from the Zionist regime’s attack is extensive, with​ engineering teams still assessing⁤ the full extent. ⁤

He explained that precautionary measures were taken before the attack—relocatable ⁢equipment was moved out, leaving only minimal essentials ‌for extremely limited flight operations.Al-Shayef mentioned that Hajj flights ⁣from Sana’a Airport were expected to operate this year as they did last year, but cargo and humanitarian aid flights have been completely ⁣halted.

The director ​confirmed that maintenance teams began work immediately after the⁣ attacks, with two ‍teams operating around-the-clock: one⁢ specialized in repairing and rebuilding airport terminals and another responsible for runway⁤ maintenance.

He predicted⁣ partial resumption of airport operations within⁢ a week.
