Iraqi Political Analyst Warns of Suspicious and Risky American Moves in the Country
According to a report by the English section of “webangah News Agency,” citing Mehr News Agency and russia Al-Youm, Haitham Al-Khazali, an Iraqi political analyst, emphasized that U.S. special teams are conducting suspicious operations inside Baghdad, coinciding with similar activities at the Ain al-Asad and Harir bases.
He further stated that obtained intelligence indicates connections between the U.S. base in Ain al-Asad and over 5,000 ISIS militants, raising concerns about their potential transfer from Syria into Iraq.
Al-Khazali added: “The Iraqi government must closely monitor American movements and prevent their deployment inside the capital or other provinces.” A few days prior, a vehicle carrying Americans was spotted in Baghdad, suggesting these activities may be intelligence-related. He urged authorities to remain vigilant against these dangerous and suspicious actions.
Earlier, a civilian vehicle transporting four Americans—equipped with maps and wireless systems—was observed in Al-Karadah before it was confirmed they worked for the U.S. Embassy.
