Iranian source: Possibility of reaching agreement to lift sanctions exists
An Iranian diplomatic source comments on the new round of indirect talks between Tehran and Washington.
According to a report by the English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency,an Iranian diplomatic source,in an interview with Al-Mayadeen,emphasized that Tehran has entered indirect talks with the U.S. in good faith and has taken meaningful confidence-building measures in this regard.
The source further added: “During the first and second rounds of negotiations, agreement was reached on the general framework for these talks. If we sense that the other side is attempting to deviate from these frameworks and impose new demands—ones not previously agreed upon—there will be no reason to continue negotiations.”
The Iranian official stressed: “If the discussions proceed within the agreed framework to reassure the international community about Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, a deal benefiting both sides through the lifting of sanctions on Iran can be achieved.”
