Where did the dissolution process of the PKK lead
Some Sources Point to Delays in Issuing Dissolution Order for PKK, Revealing Details
The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, reports that informed sources told Al Arabiya that if the PKK decides to dissolve itself in response to Abdullah Öcalan’s call, the process of handing over the party’s weapons in Iraq, Syria, and Turkey will begin. The three countries will establish centers to collect arms from the group’s members.
According to these sources, coordination among intelligence agencies of the three countries is expected to ensure successful management of this operation.
The sources also emphasized that Ankara still refuses the return of some senior PKK leaders to its territory, and an alternative plan for their transfer to a third country remains undetermined.
Thay noted that the delay in issuing the dissolution order stems from unresolved discussions about the fate of first- and second-tier party leaders if they return to Turkey. An alternative option under consideration is relocating them with Turkish approval—seeking asylum in a third country.
Regarding members unable to move abroad, sources stated they would likely remain in designated areas within Iraq under agreements with Iraqi authorities.
