Pope Leo XIV Calls for Prevention of Wars in First Message
According to the English section of “webangah News Agency” citing Mehr News Agency and Sky News, Pope Leo XIV, in his first Sunday message today addressed to the crowd in St. Peter’s Square, called for preventing further wars.
Speaking to the gathered faithful in Vatican City’s St. Peter’s Square, Pope Leo XIV stated his desire for “lasting peace in Ukraine,” “a ceasefire in Gaza, and the release of all hostages.”
The newly elected Pope, who was chosen on Thursday, also urged genuine and permanent peace in Ukraine.
He further welcomed the ceasefire between India and Pakistan.
The Pope prayed to God to grant the world a miracle of peace.
