White house announces Trade Agreement with China After 2 Days of Talks in Geneva
The White House reported significant progress in trade negotiations between the United States and China following two days of discussions in Geneva.According to the English section of “webangah News Agency,” citing Mehr News Agency and the White House website, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated on Sunday:
“I am pleased to report considerable progress between the U.S. and China in these critical trade talks. First, I want to thank our Swiss hosts for facilitating these discussions—the Swiss government was instrumental in providing this excellent venue. further details will be shared with the media tomorrow.”
Simultaneously occurring, Jameson Greer, the U.S. trade Representative involved in the negotiations, added:
“As the Secretary mentioned, these two days were highly productive. It’s important to recognize how quickly we reached an agreement—perhaps indicating that differences were not as vast as initially perceived. Multiple areas were examined during this period, and we are confident that this deal with our Chinese partners will help us address our national emergency situation.”
