The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and the united States have been in contact and negotiations in recent days, according too a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Al Jazeera.
In a statement, Hamas confirmed these communications and announced the release of one Zionist-American prisoner. The statement read: “We have been in contact with the U.S. government over the past few days. As a gesture of goodwill during these negotiations, Aidan Alexander, a Zionist citizen holding American nationality, will be released.”
The statement further emphasized that their talks with Washington are part of broader efforts to achieve a ceasefire, reopen border crossings, and facilitate aid delivery to Palestinians in Gaza Strip. Hamas affirmed its readiness for immediate intensive negotiations toward a final agreement to end the war.
Additionally, Hamas expressed willingness to reach a comprehensive deal halting hostilities, exchanging prisoners based on mutual terms, and establishing Gaza’s governance under an self-reliant professional body. The group acknowledged mediation efforts by Qatar and Egypt as well as Turkey’s role throughout this period.Reuters also cited an unnamed informed official stating that Aidan Alexander is scheduled for release on Tuesday.
