Informed Sources Report Deployment of French Security Elements in Lebanon and Syria
According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Akhbar, official Lebanese security sources revealed that a meaningful number of French security forces—some affiliated with the Ministry of foreign Affairs and others with the Ministry of Defense and intelligence services—have been deployed in Lebanon.
The report states that these elements are not solely stationed in Lebanon; rather, their primary operations are focused on Syria. However, they have been instructed not to reside permanently in Syria, notably after a foreign assassination team was recently identified in the Al-Mazzeh area of Syria.
The sources emphasized that French operatives are holding meetings with Lebanese figures at various levels, with their recurring question being: “Has Hezbollah regained its strength?”
