Head of Iraqi Kurdistan Region reacts to dissolution of PKK

According to a report by the English section of “webangah News agency” citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the President of Iraq’s Kurdistan Region reacted to the news of the dissolution of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
As reported by AFP, Nechirvan Barzani said: The PKK’s decision to lay down its arms will strengthen regional security.
Barzani emphasized: The announcement by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party regarding their decision to abandon armed struggle is a pivotal development that could usher in a new era for the region.
He noted: The PKK’s move creates an possibility for enhancing peaceful coexistence and stability in Turkey and across the region. This step will bring an end to decades of suffering and open horizons for lasting stability.
Turkey’s Justice and Development Party stated that the PKK’s resolution to dissolve itself and disarm marks a significant step toward achieving its goal of establishing a terrorism-free country.
Reuters also reported, citing an official from turkey’s Presidential Communications Office, that Ankara will take necessary measures regarding the smooth dissolution of the PKK.
Earlier, media outlets affiliated with Turkey’s Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) announced its disbandment.
Kurdish media further reported that the PKK has dissolved, ending all armed activities by its members against Turkey as well as all related operations.
