Gaza health Ministry Warns of Humanitarian Catastrophe in hospitals Due to Staff and Medical Supply Shortages
The Gaza Health Ministry has issued a statement warning of a humanitarian disaster in the strip’s hospitals due to severe shortages of medical personnel and equipment.
According to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Information Center, the Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza stated on Monday that hospitals and medical centers have reached a critical state following continuous attacks by the Zionist regime and prolonged blockade.The statement noted that vital departments—including operating rooms, intensive care units, and emergency wards—are functioning with depleted equipment and lacking essential supplies. Medical facilities urgently need portable imaging devices,anesthesia equipment,and surgical tools to treat the wounded.
Specialized surgeries in orthopedics, vascular surgery, ophthalmology, and general surgery have been halted due to missing instruments and surgical trays. Inpatient wards also face severe shortages of hospital beds,therapeutic aids,and even space for new patients.
The ministry added that reserves of medical gases like carbon dioxide, ethylene oxide (ETO), oxides have been exhausted. Even specialized surgical fabrics, bed linens, and shrouds for martyrs’ bodies are completely depleted.
