President Expresses Satisfaction with Expanding Iran-Uzbekistan Relations, Says “We Are Parts of One Body”
During a meeting with Uzbekistan’s Prime Minister, President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed satisfaction with the growing bilateral relations, stating: “Iran and Uzbekistan are parts of one body and share deep past, cultural, linguistic, and ideological commonalities.” Geographic borders have not—and cannot—create division between the two nations.
Pezeshkian emphasized that increased exchanges between officials and citizens of both countries would strengthen interactions and elevate relations. He added: “There is vast potential to expand cooperation. By leveraging our shared heritage, Iran and Uzbekistan can enhance ties in all fields.”
The president described Iran’s government and people as welcoming toward their Uzbek counterparts, stressing: “Through deeper engagement and mutual exchange of expertise, we can bring greater prosperity to our nations and foster peace, security, and stability in the region.”
Pezeshkian requested the Uzbek Prime Minister convey his warmest greetings to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, adding: “I look forward to renewing talks with Mr. Mirziyoyev in Tehran to accelerate implementation of bilateral agreements.”

Uzbek Prime Minister Aref Arefov relayed his president’s greetings to Pezeshkian, noting: “Your joint efforts with my president have considerably advanced shared goals and elevated bilateral relations.”
Arefov highlighted his visit to an exhibition showcasing Iran’s scientific, industrial, and technical achievements: “I am pleased by Iran’s remarkable progress across sectors. our discussions during this trip yielded strong agreements to boost trade volume between our countries.”
