Gaza government international community must prevent assassination of journalists in Gaza
Gaza Government Details Office Strongly Condemns Zionist Crime in Assassination of Prominent Palestinian Journalist, Calls on International Community to Stop These Crimes
The Gaza Government Information Office issued a statement condemning the martyrdom of another journalist in Gaza, raising the total number of journalist martyrs to 215.
According to the statement, martyr Hussein Aslih was killed while receiving treatment at Nasser Hospital after being wounded in an earlier Zionist regime assassination attempt.The occupying forces ultimately murdered him by attacking the hospital.
The office strongly condemned the Zionist occupiers’ systematic killings and assassinations of Palestinian journalists. It called on international journalist unions, including the Arab Journalists Union and all relevant global institutions, to denounce these targeted crimes against journalists and reporters in Gaza.
The statement held Zionist occupiers, the U.S. government, and all governments complicit in the genocide in Gaza—including Britain, Germany, and France—fully responsible for these brutal crimes. It urged the international community, global organizations, and press freedom groups worldwide to condemn these atrocities and bring their perpetrators to justice before international courts.
Additionally, it demanded serious pressure be applied on the Zionist regime to halt its genocide in Gaza while protecting journalists from further assassinations.
Background:
Hussein Aslih was a journalist from Gaza who had been wounded a month prior during an Israeli regime attack on a journalists’ tent at Nasser Hospital. While undergoing burn treatment there, he was killed when Zionist warplanes struck the hospital again.
Hospital sources confirmed that the burns unit was directly targeted during this attack, leaving several others injured as well.
