Hamas reacts to execution of elderly man by Mahmoud Abbas forces
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Shehab News Agency, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) stated in a declaration: Only hours had passed as the crime of executing young Palestinian Rami Zahran in Al-Far’a camp in Tubas when security forces of the self-governing authority committed another crime by directly firing at a vehicle in eastern Jenin. This resulted in the cold-blooded execution of an elderly citizen and injuries to several others, creating a horrific scene that contradicts all religious and national values. It exposes the extent of moral decline within thes security institutions and their criminal behavior, which mirrors that of occupying forces.
Hamas emphasized that this indifference and continued bloodshed against Palestinians—by those meant to protect them—is incomprehensible.Such actions blatantly mock all ethical and humanitarian standards upheld by officials and members of these institutions.
The statement further warned against these savage acts, criminal conduct, and their consequences for Palestinian national unity and social cohesion. It demanded an immediate national stance to halt this dangerous decline and end complicit silence toward coordination between self-governing authorities’ institutions and occupying forces.
Hamas also called for prompt, impartial investigations into all violations and crimes committed by security bodies under the self-governing authority in the West Bank, stressing accountability for perpetrators.
