Security Council meeting on Gaza war
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the United Nations security Council convened a session addressing the Zionist regime’s brutality in Gaza.
During the meeting, Algeria’s representative condemned the zionist forces’ complete blockade of Gaza and demanded immediate humanitarian aid access to the strip.
He emphasized: Israel, in blatant violation of international law and direct defiance of International Court of Justice orders, is obstructing aid from reaching Gaza. The Zionist occupiers have imposed widespread starvation on over two million Palestinians in Gaza.
The Algerian delegate highlighted the extensive brutality of Zionist forces, stating: “What is happening in Gaza exposes the ugly face of the Zionist regime to the world.”
Meanwhile, Britain’s representative—one of five veto-wielding members on the Security Council—urged cooperation between Israel and the UN to facilitate humanitarian aid entry into Gaza.
The UK envoy stressed: ”We are witnessing thousands of kilograms of food rotting at Gaza’s borders instead of reaching those suffering from famine.”
The British official noted: “We will not support any aid mechanism in Gaza that pursues political or military objectives. We demand large-scale humanitarian assistance for distribution among Palestinians.”
The UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs also expressed grave concern about catastrophic conditions in Gaza during a report to the Security Council.
Citing flaws in Israel’s proposed aid distribution plan,he stated: “For anyone still pretending to have doubts—Israel’s designed method is inadequate. It effectively excludes many, including people with disabilities, women, children, elderly individuals, and wounded civilians while displacing more Palestinians.”
The UN official added that Palestinian access remains severely restricted under this plan , which sets an unacceptable precedent not only across occupied Palestinian territories but globally . This approach confines aid delivery solely t o parts o f Gaz a . p>
