Jumblatt welcomes Trump’s decision to lift sanctions on Syria

According to the English section of webangah​ News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al-Nashra, Walid‌ jumblatt, the former leader of Lebanon’s Progressive Socialist Party, commented on the lifting of sanctions against Syria.

He stated:⁤ “I thank U.S. President Donald Trump because⁤ lifting sanctions on⁣ Syria is‍ a major achievement.”

Jumblatt added: “The removal​ of sanctions on Syria greatly affects us. We cannot consider ourselves separate from the region.”

It⁣ shoudl ​be noted that U.S. President Donald Trump announced during⁢ his visit to Riyadh that he would order the⁣ lifting of imposed sanctions against Syria.
