Baquaei: US contradictions harm negotiation process

Iran’s Foreign ministry Spokesperson, in an ⁢interview with a regional media outlet, emphasized that the contradictory behavior⁤ of the⁣ U.S. harms the⁤ negotiation process.

according⁤ to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing ⁤Mehr News Agency, Esmail‌ Baghaei,⁢ Iran’s foreign Ministry Spokesperson, ⁣in an exclusive interview with ⁤Qatar’s Al-Araby Al-Jadeed network, stressed‍ that the U.S.’s contradictory behavior damages the negotiation process and that⁤ Iran has two clear red ⁤lines in these ‍talks.

Baghaei emphasized that the fifth round of indirect‌ negotiations between Tehran and Washington still lacks⁢ a⁣ set time and location.

Referring to recent statements by U.S. officials, he said: “The⁢ positions and remarks of the U.S.over recent weeks ⁤have been⁢ full of ‌contradictions; on one hand, they speak of dialog and agreement, while conversely, they impose illegal and oppressive⁣ sanctions.”

“These contradictions by ⁣no‌ means demonstrate America’s seriousness or goodwill in the negotiation ⁤process,” Baghaei added.

He ⁢further stressed that tehran⁤ does not expect goodwill from Washington because ⁤”mistrust and suspicion toward America ‍have a long history—and this mistrust is logical. The country’s actions over past decades—including⁢ oppressive‌ sanctions—are clear evidence of Washington’s lack of goodwill.”
