Baquaei: US contradictions harm negotiation process
according to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, Esmail Baghaei, Iran’s foreign Ministry Spokesperson, in an exclusive interview with Qatar’s Al-Araby Al-Jadeed network, stressed that the U.S.’s contradictory behavior damages the negotiation process and that Iran has two clear red lines in these talks.
Baghaei emphasized that the fifth round of indirect negotiations between Tehran and Washington still lacks a set time and location.
Referring to recent statements by U.S. officials, he said: “The positions and remarks of the U.S.over recent weeks have been full of contradictions; on one hand, they speak of dialog and agreement, while conversely, they impose illegal and oppressive sanctions.”
“These contradictions by no means demonstrate America’s seriousness or goodwill in the negotiation process,” Baghaei added.
He further stressed that tehran does not expect goodwill from Washington because ”mistrust and suspicion toward America have a long history—and this mistrust is logical. The country’s actions over past decades—including oppressive sanctions—are clear evidence of Washington’s lack of goodwill.”
