Trump’s move shocked US government officials
according to a report by the English section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Reuters reported, citing U.S. officials, that Donald Trump‘s decision as president to lift all sanctions against Syria shocked some members of the U.S. government.
The American sources added that senior officials from the U.S. State Department and Treasury had received no prior notification from the White House regarding this matter.
On Tuesday,trump announced the lifting of sanctions imposed on Syria in a move aimed at further supporting terrorists dominating Syria under the leadership of Abu Mohammad al-Julani,while also seeking to secure Israel by normalizing relations between damascus and Tel Aviv.
Reuters noted that directly lifting sanctions is considered a rare action, as such measures typically require extensive coordination within the U.S. government.
