Turkey operation continues despite PKK dissolution
Turkey’s Ministry of Defense announces continuation of operations against PKK elements despite the group’s dissolution.
According to a report by the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Turkey’s Ministry of Defense stated that its military operations against elements of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in their deployment areas will continue until Turkey is assured of the region’s clearance and the elimination of threats.
It was also reported that Turkey will establish a specific mechanism for PKK members to surrender their weapons.
Three days ago, the PKK announced its dissolution and cessation of armed activities in an official statement.
