Kallas: It is clear that Russia does not want peace
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al jazeera, Kaja Kallas, the EU’s foreign policy chief, stated on friday: “It’s clear Russia doesn’t want peace!”
The EU foreign policy chief added: “We must increase pressure on Putin and work on a new sanctions package against Russia. Russia is playing games with us, and the Americans understand the importance of intensifying pressure on Moscow.”
A educated source within the EU Permanent Representatives Committee revealed that the bloc approved its 17th sanctions package against Moscow on May 13. The new sanctions must also be endorsed by EU foreign ministers during their meeting on May 20.
Earlier reports indicated that the 17th sanctions package would target around 60 Russian individuals and entities, their partners, and between 50 to 150 oil tankers carrying Moscow’s crude.
