Salman Rushdie attacker sentenced to 25 years in prison

According to‍ a report ‌by the English‍ section of webangah News‍ Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Sky News, a court in New York ‌issued the verdict against the assailant of salman Rushdie, the author who insulted the sanctity of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

The report states that⁢ Hadi Matar,27,who attacked Salman Rushdie with a knife during⁣ a public⁤ lecture at the Chautauqua Institution ⁣in ‌New York State in ‌2022,stabbing ​him multiple times,appeared⁣ in court today​ for‍ sentencing and⁣ was handed ⁢a 25-year prison term.

This ruling comes after a‍ jury found Matar⁣ guilty of ⁢attempted⁤ murder and assault ⁢this past February.

Following Hadi Matar’s attack on Salman Rushdie—author ​of the controversial book “The Satanic Verses”—American ‍media reported that Rushdie lost vision in one eye due to the assault.
