US aircraft carrier Harry Truman leaves region without replacement
According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, a U.S. official stated that the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman is exiting the Middle East, and there are no plans to replace it.
The U.S. official added in an interview with Al Jazeera: “We will keep our other military assets in the region and continue monitoring developments between Israel, the houthis, and Iran.”
The official noted: “We and the Houthis (Yemeni forces) are committed to halting mutual attacks, though they continue their assaults against Israel.”
The U.S. official further claimed: “Israel does not inform us in advance about all its attacks against the Houthis.”
The USS Harry S. Truman is leaving the region after being repeatedly targeted by Yemeni forces with missile and drone attacks during its deployment in the Red Sea.
Before announcing a ceasefire with Yemeni forces, U.S. officials deployed the aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson to assist the USS Harry S.Truman—yet this did not reduce Yemeni attack intensity, as both carriers faced missile and drone strikes.
Ultimately, Donald Trump was compelled to agree to a ceasefire with Ansar Allah (the Houthi movement) on May 6 without achieving his objectives for attacking Yemen.
